Maj Gen Peter Gersten (2 stars) who has led the Air Force Warfare Center at Nellis Air Force Base since July 2017 has been removed from command.

Gen Mike Holmes made his decision over a loss of confidence in Gersten’s leadership ability because of an alleged inappropriate relationship.

“The Air Force holds leaders to high standards and expects them to uphold the core values of the service at all times,” Holmes’ statement read.

Peter Gersten is a 1989 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He flew the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon, but had difficulty controlling smaller equipment closer to his stomach.
