Williamstown Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting Girl, 15

ELIZABETHVILLE — A Williamstown man is free on bail, charged by state police at Lykens with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old Schuylkill Haven girl while the two served in the Civil Air Patrol.

Ryan Austin Mantz, 21, of 233 N. West St., of [Pennsylvania Wing] was arrested by Trooper Hilary Faust and charged with one felony count each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a person under the age of 16, unlawful contact with a minor, statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors, along with one misdemeanor count of indecent assault.

Faust charged Mantz with incidents at his residence between Dec. 1, 2017, and April 30 while he and the teenager served as cadets in the Civil Air Patrol program based in Lebanon [Lebanon VFW Cadet Squadron].

Faust said the incidents came to light on May 2, when Civil Air Patrol Lt Matthew Bartal [who is also a police chief for North Annville Township in Lebanon County] reported an alleged sexual assault incident between two cadets.
